John Filowiat, 67, of Van Lear, died Thursday, January 29, 1998.
  
He was born April 7, 1930, in Aliganie County, Pennsylvania, the
son of Michael Filowiat and Mary Podowski.
  
He was a mechanic.
  
He was preceded in death by his parents.
  
He is survived by his wife, Mary Hannah Filowiat; one son, Douglas
Filowiat of Van Lear; five brothers, Anthony Filowiat of
Finleyville, Pennsylvania; George Filowiat of Clawsom, Michigan;.
Andrew Filowiat of Lake Orion, Michigan; Eddie Filowiat of Mobile,
Alabama; and Mike Filowat of Oxford, Michigan; four sisters, Julie
F Liss of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Rose F Humphrey of Pittsburg,
Pennsylvania; Betty F Bendal of Finleyville, Pennsylvania; and
Virginia F Glass of Fort Worth, Texas; and one grandchild, Michael.
  
Services were February 1, at the Van Lear Enterprise Baptist Church
with Roger Hill, and Kenny Collins officiating and Jones-Preston
Funeral caring for those arrangements.
  
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville.
