CORA FAIRCHILDS

Cora "Spears" Fairchild 78, died Tuesday, December 8 1981, at her
home in Staffordsville.
  
The daughter of George and Loucinda Spears. Mrs Fairchild was born
in Johnson County on October 6 1903.
  
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Fairchilds, who died
April 16 1980.
  
Survivors include a son, Leroy Fairchilds, Staffordsville, one
step-son, Walker Fairchild, also of Staffordsville; two daughters,
Loretta Burkett, Staffordsville; and Virginia Nelson,
Prestonsburg; and one step-daughter, Etta Goble, Staffordsville.
  
Also one brother, Marcus Spears, of Arizona; two half-sisters,
Garnett Cox, Staffordsville; and Jean Spears, of Maryland; 25
grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held Thursday, December, 19, at Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Ted Nelson and Herman McFaddin
officiating.
  
Burial was in the family cemetery at Staffordsville and Jones-
Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
