Judith Carol Fairchild, 52, died Tuesday, May 19, 1998.
  
She was born June 21, 1945, in Johnson County, the daughter of
Manford and Joy Williams McCarty.
   
She was a retired cook for the Johnson County School System and a
member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
  
She was preceded in death by her father.
  
She is survived by her husband, Phillip Fairchild, who she married
July 10, 1963, in Paintsville; two sons, Roger Eugene Fairchild of
Oil Springs; and Avery Lee Fairchild of Hagerhill; three daughters,
Phyllis Ann McNeil of Beaver Dam; Annette Carol Branham of
Indianapolis, Indiana; and Elizabeth Gay Stanifer of Knoxville,
Tennessee; six brothers, Crate McCarty, Charles McCarty; Manford
McCarty, Jr., James McCarty, Jim McCarty and Jeff McCarty, all of
Hagerhill; two sisters, Joyce Craft of Marion, Ohio; and Rosie
Grubb, of Columbus, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
  
Services were May 21, at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel.
  
Burial was at Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville.
