EDNA MERLE FAIRCHILD
1911–1994
    
Edna Merle Fairchild, 82, of Oil Springs, died Tuesday at
her home. Mrs. Fairchild was born March 18, 1911, in
Johnson County, a daughter of the late Benjamin F. Conley
and Dora Meade Conley.
    
She was a retired teacher.
    
Surviving are her husband, Delbert Fairchild; a son,
David R Fairchild of Oil Springs; two daughters, Linda F.
Castle of Sitka and Vivian A. Fairchild of Oil Springs; a
brother W. R. Conley of Wittensville; five sisters, Fern
Lyons of Blaine, Ruth McKenzie of Flat Gap, Anna J.
Beculheimer of Columbus, Ohio, Florence Meade of
Vanceburg and Hazel Johnson of Morehead; three
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
    
The Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Jones-
Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville by Ellis Hamilton,
James Kelly Caudill and Dick Vanhoose, ministers.
    
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in
Staffordsville.
    
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
