Funeral services were held Thursday, March 6, 11:00 a.m. at Jones-
Preston Funeral Chapel for  Demis Fairchild, 72, who passed away
Monday, March 3 2003 at his home.
  
Mr. Fairchild was born February  18, 1931 in Johnson County, son of
the late Jesse and Gracie Litton Fairchild.
  
Surviving are his wife,  Eleanor Blair Fairchild; two sons, Eddy J.
and Billy J. Fairchild, both of Staffordsville; two daughters,
Debra K. Meade of Flat Gap and Nancy C. Blair of Swamp Branch;
eight brothers, Jesse, Ernie, John,  Ivan, Irvin and Willie
Fairchild, all of Staffordsville, Buford Fairchild of Galloway, OH
and Bud Ward of  Van Lear; four sisters, Dollie Pennington, Shirley
Hill, Jean Blanton, all of Staffordsville and Darlene  Wills of
Gold Canyon, AZ; 4 grandchildren.
  
The service was officiated by Donald Ray Caudill and Gail  Music,
with burial following in Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville.
  
Arrangements under the  direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home of
Paintsville.
