WARDIE BARNETT
1910-1995

Paintsville resident Wardie Barnett, 85, died Wednesday, December 20,
1995, at Salyersville Health Care Center.

Mr. Barnett was born October 15,1910, in Magoffin County, the son of the
late F.A. and Rebecca Patrick Barnett.

He retired in 1975 as a gas drilling contractor for Columbia Fuel Gas
Company and was owner/manager of Phelps Gas Company, served in the
Civilian Conservation Corps and was a member of the Methodist Church,
Paintsville Masonic Lodge 381 F & AM, Pikeville York Rite Lodge and El
Hasa Temple of Ashland.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Preston Barnett; one son, Jim Barnett of
Ft. Myers, Florida; two daughters, Rebecca Duke and Marigrace Cottrell,
both of Staffordsville and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, at Paintsville Funeral
Home Chapel, with Revs. Terry Reffett and Gene Strange and Anisa
Cottrell officiating.

Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.
