William Arrowood, 81, of River, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at his
residence.
Born Feb. 28, 1926, in Ashville, N.C., he was a son of the late
Herbert and Sally Jackson Arrowood. He was a construction worker and
U.S. Army veteran.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Wells Arrowood,
in 2000.
Survivors include four sons, Paul Arrowood of Tutor Key, David
Arrowood, Doug Arrowood, and Roger Arrowood all of River; six
daughters, Carla Arms of Paintsville, Debbie Howard of Salyersville,
Patty Wallen of Kentucky, Karen Daniels of River, Kaye Joseph of
Thelma, and Brenda Daniels of Washington; a brother, Carroll
Arrowood of Ashville, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Penland of Ashville,
and Ella James of Fayettsville, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Preston Funeral Chapel,
Paintsville, with Steve Rose officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Preston Funeral Home.
