JAMES M DIXON CEMETERY
This Cemetery is located at Turner Branch, Paintsville.
From the intersection of Rt 321 and Rt 23, It is about one-quarter
mile North on Rt 23 at "Steep Hill Rd", East off Rt 23. It is on a Hill
about 300 yards from Route 23, straight up the hill.
I dont really know if this is a James M Dixon Cemetery or not, but the location of
these burials are more on the top of this hill then the other 3 cemeteries listed
on this same hill. So more than likely they are the first burials on this hill,
according to death dates.
The only James M Dixon listed in census reports for Johnson County around this
time period was a son of Martin B. & Rutha Ann Dixon. In the 1870 census, James M.
is listed as 17 years of age, and in the 1880 census he is listed as 25 years of age.
