Armon Collinsworth Armon Collinsworth, 86, of Piketon, OH, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 25, 2006. He was born on June 23, 1919 in Asa Creek, Kentucky, the son of the late Lloyd and Malta (Williams) Collinsworth. Armon was also preceded in death by his brothers John, Thurman and Haskell Collinsworth and his sister, Reva Whiteside as well as two half-brothers, Earl and Edmond Collinsworth of Louisa, Kentucky. Armon served in the United States Army during World War II with the 9th Infantry Division and was honorably discharged in 1946. His name is proudly displayed on the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Armon was a Master Carpenter whose skills are greatly missed. He built his home and enjoyed making furniture. He made and restored musical instruments such as the mandolin, guitar and banjos. Armon retired from the Veteran's Hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio after 24 years of service in June 1981. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waverly where he worshiped for many years and the congregation has been a great source of comfort. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 66 years Gladys, his daughter Mary Lucille (Paul) Abshear of Springfield, Ohio and his son, Gerald "Jerry" (Mary) of Waverly, his grandchildren, David (Tammy) Abshear and Lisa Behr of Springfield, Anita (Clay) Selfridge of St. Cloud, Florida, Jeremy Collinsworth, Jason Collinsworth and Joshua Collinsworth of Waverly and his great grandchildren, Michael, Jordan, Christopher, Brennan, Haylie, Amanda, Easton, Sarah and Spencer. He also leaves behind his brother, Marvin (Edna) Collinsworth of Dayton, Ohio as well as many other relatives. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Waverly at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006 with Pastors Gary Pack and Roger Hauck officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon with military graveside services by the American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly. Friends may call at the Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Monday and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Submitted By: Connie Spurlock
