COLLINS, Robert Jr. 1990 Former Paintsville resident, Robert Collins Jr., 69, died Tuesday, September 4. Mr. Collins was born April 2, 1921 at Daniels Creek, the son of the late Robert Sr. and Minnie Burchfield Collins. He was an eastern Kentucky coalminer, worked at Wabash Alloy, where he retired in 1974, was a member of the Wabash Freewill Baptist Church, Wabash American Legion VFW, ABC Bowling Association and served during the war. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Mae Butcher in August 1987, one son and two brothers. Surviving are four sons, James, of Paintsville, Robert and Timothy, both of Wabash, and Kenneth, of Marion, Indiana; three daughters, Geraldine Hyden, Shirlene Minnick and Judy Harland, all of Wabash; five sisters, Cordie Hill, Oshie Martin and Jewel Watkins, all of Wabash, Pauline Kennedy of Jacksonville, Florida and Bernice Garcia, of Phoenix, Arizona; 16 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. FUneral services were held September 8, in Wabash Freewill Baptist Church, with Revs. Bobby Webb and Pete Powell officiating. Burial was in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County, Indiana, with Garrett & Sloane Colonial Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Paintsville Herald Wednesday Sep.12 1990
