CASTLE, William Ray 1929-1997 Former Johnson County resident William Ray Castle, 68, died Friday, May 24, at his Dunlow, West Virginia residence. Mr. Castle was born February 18, 1929, in Johnson County, to the late James M. and Marjorie Stambaugh Castle. He was a self-employed painter and veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are four daughters, Betty Joyce Fear, Marjorie Karen Yarber and Ruby Jewel Griender, all of Fargo, North Dakota, and Diana Sue Rasmussos of Moorehead, Minnesota; three brother, James M. Castle, Jr. of Paintsville, Leon Castle of Lowmansville and Robert D. Castle of Auxier; five sisters, Phillis Carol Daniel of Lowmansville, Betty Virginia Wright of Leesburt, Ohio, Vina W. Vickers of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Shirley Jean Blanton of New Holland, Ohio, and Doris Ann Caudill of New Martingburg, Ohio; and 14 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, May 28, at 10 a.m., at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Paul Aikens officiating. Burial was in Castle Cemetery at Lowmansville.
