CANTRELL, Charles R. 1898-1973 Charles R. Cantrell, Sr., 75, a retired tobacco farmer died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, in County Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Johnson County, January 5, 1898, he was a son of Noah and Amanda McKenzie Cantrell. On November 15, 1918, he was married to Martha Coffee, who survives. Mr. Cantrell and his family came to Coshocton County in 1946. He raised tobacco on his farm in this county until his retirement in 1961. He was a member of the Church of God. Surviving in addition to his widow are four sons, Paul Cantrell of Gahanna, OH, Charles R. Cantrell, JR., and Melvin Cantrell, both of Coshocton, and Arlie Cantrell of Las Cruz, NM, six daughters, Mrs. Ilene Hylton of Columbus, OH, Mrs. Nell Hill of Warsaw, Mrs. Velma Pierce, Coshocton, Mrs. Jean Guthrie of Millersburg, Mrs. Dorothy Wilson, Coshocton, and Mrs. Jerry Latham, Coshocton, three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Fyffe of Elna, Mrs. Bessie Hamilton of Red Bush, and Mrs. Esta Holbrook of Fairborn, OH, along with 37 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Deceased are a twin daughter, four brothers, six sisters, and two granddaughters. Service was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dawson Funeral Home by Rev. Wilbur V. McKnight and Rev. Harold G. Wright.
