Auxier Resident Dies Friday Henry Burke, 82, well-known resident of Auxier, died at his home Friday evening, April 1, following an illness of fourteen years. The son of the late Charles and Malvina Jones Burke, he was born at East Point April 4, 1877, and had made his home at Auxier for the past fourteen years. He was a member of the Louisa Church of Christ and prior to his retirement was employed as a clerk. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nannie Wilson Burke; three daughters, Mrs. Stella Bailes and Mrs. Maggie Clark, both of California; Mrs. Herma Bailes, Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Grant Burke, Van Lear; Robert Burke, Cliff. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m., from the chapel of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home with the Rev. S.C. Honeycutt as the officiating minister.
