WARSAW- Randall Burchett, 61, of 218 Mill St., died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at the Ohio State University Medical Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital. He was born Sept. 8, 1947, in Paintsville, Ky., to the late Frank and Lydia Ellen (Kelly) Burchett. He married Nancy (Salyer) Burchett on April 17, 1970, whom survives. He served in the United States Army, and was a retired boilermaker. He coached girls fast and slow pitch softball for more than 25 years, and was an assistant coach for the Zanesville Eclipse Girls 16 and under softball team. He was one of the greatest University of Kentucky basketball fans to ever live. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and all the girls he coached in softball. In addition to his wife, Nancy Burchett, of Warsaw, he is survived by a daughter, Tesa Laney of Warsaw; a son, Randy (Brandy) Burchett II of Roscoe; a special grandson, Christopher Burchett; three granddaughters, Jessica Laney, Elly and Abby Burchett; four step-grandchildren, Cole and Paige Bemiller, and Gavin and Raina Kesterson; four sisters, Loretta (Bill) Sowards of Flat Gap, Ky., Jean (Revis) Lyons of Olive Hill, Ky., Dorothy Moore of Hopewell, Va., and Phyllis (Bob) Dubovsky of Disputanta, Va.; two brothers, Sandy (Toni) Burchett of Chester, W.Va., and Jimmy (Debbie) Burchett of Jackson, Mich.; and his father-in-law, Woodrow Salyer of Dayton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Newell and Jack Burchett; and his mother-in-law, Irene Salyer. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Coshocton County Joint Veterans Council.
