ELZIE "DOODLE BUG" BRANHAM Born in Boons Camp, Kentucky on Aug. 23, 1920 Died on Mar. 6, 2009 and resided in Lagro, IN. Elzie "Doodle Bug" Branham, 88, of rural Lagro, Indiana, died at 2:20 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. He was born August 23, 1920 in Boons Camp, Kentucky to William and Malva (Pack) Branham, and was raised by his dad and stepmother, Dollie Branham. He married Eva Mae Collins on December 24, 1945 in Williamsport, Kentucky; she died March 1, 2003. He was a World War II US Army veteran, a 36-year member of the Lagro American Legion Post 248, and a member of Grace Fellowship Church of Wabash. He retired in 1982 after 32 years at General Tire in Wabash, where he worked in the mill room. Elzie enjoyed spending time outdoors feeding the birds and squirrels. He is survived by two sons, Walter (Dorothy) Branham and William "Bill" (Barbara) Branham, both of Lagro; eight grandchildren, Todd (Judie) Branham, Tracy (Lamar) Dixon, both of Lagro, Ryan (April) Branham of LaFontaine, Kara (Brett) Windmiller of Ft Wayne, Emmy Branham and Mike Lindzy, both of Lagro, Lisa Lothridge of Akron, Indiana, and Patty Piper of North Manchester; 11 great grandchildren, two great great grandsons; three sisters, Arcolas Goble of Willard, Ohio, Hazel Marie (John) Elkins and Addie B. (Robert) Langley, both of Interlachen, Florida; four brothers, Carlos (Edna) Branham of Willard, Ohio, Malcolm (Betty) Branham and Donald Ray (Linda) Branham, both of Plymouth, Ohio, and Ronald Lee (Gracie) Branham of Shiloh, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Phyllis Ann Lindzy who died June 18, 2001, and Reta Kay Rogers who died September 14, 2006, and his brother, Johnnie Branham. Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Bill Bowling and Gene Strickler officiating.
