Evelene Booth Died: Thursday, December 25, 2008 Age: 80 FLOYD COUNTY — Evelene Booth, 80, of Prestonsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 25, at her residence. Born Dec. 14, 1928, at Whitehouse, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Goldie Ramey Stapleton. She was a sales clerk for Ben Franklin Store and a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Booth; a daughter, Linda Booth; four brothers, Francis Stapleton, Hershell Jarrell, Bill Jarrell, and Wesley Jarrell; and three sisters, Elizabeth McCoy, Idella Stapleton, and Melinda Wiley. Survivors include a son, Jackie Marion Booth of Prestonsburg; a daughter, Joyce Carroll of Prestonsburg; four sisters, Bertha Cline of Prestonsburg, Dolly Kendrick and Jean Hurd, both of Michigan, and Lillian Smith of Florida; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, a step- great-grandchild; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 28, at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, with Bobby Carpenter and Carl Woods officiating. Burial was in Richmond Cemetery, Prestonsburg, under direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin. Big Sandy News Jan 2009
