OHIO — James Ray Blanton, 66, of Greenfield, Ohio, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Adena Regional
Medical Center, Chillicothe.

Born Aug. 4, 1942, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Paul and Hattie O'Bryan Blanton.
He was a pipe fitter for Local No. 577 in Portsmouth, a member of the Mary Chapel United Baptist
Church of Waverly and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Blanton.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Caudill Blanton of Greenfield; two daughters, Jerri Lynn
Blanton and Jayme Carol Richards, both of Greenfield; a brother, Paul M. Blanton of Greenfield;
two sisters, Linda Hall of Lucasville and Sue Bender of Columbus; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 2, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home with Zane Murray
officiating. Burial was in Scioto Burial Park, Lucasville, under direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen
Funeral Home, Lucasville.
