HERBERT J. BLAIR 1898-1990 Herbert J. Blair, 91, died Thursday, May 11, in Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, Ohio. Mr. Blair was born September 14, 1898 in Johnson County, the son of James and Margarette Belle Ward Blair. When he was young he worked for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. Big Sandy Division at Paintsville and then switched to farming, moving to Ohio, and was a Deacon Emeritus in the First Baptist Church of Fairborn, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his first wife. Norma Weddington Blair two infant children, a daughter, Mrs. James (Garnett) Bergin; a brother, Hubert; and two sisters, Hester Blair and Mrs Earl (Hazel) Horne. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; one son and daughter-in-law, Herbert E. and Norma Blair, of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Virginia Blair, of New Carlisle, Ohio; two step-daughters. Mrs, William (Lois) Morris and Mrs. Kenneth (Georgiana) Smith; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Hattie) Baldwin, of Denver; two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren; and several step- grandchildren, step- great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, at 2 p.m., in the First Baptist Church of Fairborn, with Rev. Don McMurry officiating. Burial was in New Carlisle Cemetery.
