Alka Bayes
1916 - 2009

Alka Bayes of Woodville, OH passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Foundation Park Care
Center, Toledo, OH. On June 14, 1916 she was born in Paintsville, KY to George and Rachel (Arms)
Ratliff. In Paintsville, KY she married Harry Bayes on May 31, 1947 and he preceded her in death
on November 15, 2007. She was a homemaker and loved canning, gardening and quilting. In her spare
time she enjoyed playing horseshoes and flowers.

Alka is survived by her daughter: Ann (John) Hicks and son: Bert (Debby) Bayes both of Woodville,
OH; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents:
George and Rachel Ratliff; husband: Harry Bayes; son: Harry Bayes, Jr; and 12 brothers and
sisters.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Marsh
Funeral Home, 201 West Main Street, Woodville, OH where funeral services will be conducted on
Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM. Officiating is Rev. Matthew March. Those giving a memorial
contribution may wish to consider the Foundation Park Care Center, Toledo, OH or American Heart
Association.
