Raymond Odra Liford, 57, of Blue Lake Drive in Berea, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at his home.
Liford was born in the community of Lilly in Laurel County on April 29, 1945. He had worked as an auto body repairman and was a disabled Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Holly Hill, Fla. He and his wife Linda enjoyed singing gospel music, and he had served several churches in Florida as minister of music. His favorite hobby was auto racing and he was the main sponsor of the Liford-Petrey Racing Team.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Liford.
Survivors include his wife, Linda York Liford; his mother, Clara Garland Liford of Corbin; four sons, Paul Liford of Corbin, Kyle Liford of Erlanger, Dewayne (Jennifer) Hacker of Richmond and Rob Hacker of Berea; two daughters, Tammy Lunsford of North Carolina and Megan Liford of McKee; four brothers, Harry Liford of London, Clyde "Monk" Liford of Keavy; Bobby Liford of Corbin, and Dennis (Nora) Liford of Four Mile; three sisters, Bitha Liford of Corbin, Brenda (Bill) Evans of Corbin and Janice (Ron) Manning of North Stonington, Conn.; five grandchildren, Adrienne Liford, Joseph and James Hacker, Robin and Shane Lunsford; a host of nieces and nephews that love him dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at the Combs, Parsons, and Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Owen Moody officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Combs, Parsons, and Collins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Rob Hacker, Dewayne Hacker, Roy Petrie, Jr., Ben Petrey, Bill Evans and Harold Reid.
