Mary Hughes of Ireland married William Coshow of Wales. After emigrating to America, they settled in North Carolina. On an expedition to Kentucky with Daniel Boone, William Coshow was Killed by Indians in 1790 at General Harrod's Fort. His widow, Mary Hughes Coshow, married Jonathan Bryan who loved young William Coshow as though he were his own son.
