lulu@midcoast.com (Stephen Bennett).on 5 Feb 1998:
"I have records from Gloucester that show that Anthony's [Anthony
Bennett, his step son] mother Elinor married Window in 1652. Window
built a house for his new family in West Gloucester. That house is still
standing and is owned by a man named Howard V. Williams. The address
is 11 Lincoln Street, Gloucester, Mass. 01930 his phone is
508-283-8108. Mr Williams has written and researched extensively
about his house and those who have lived there. I visited in that home
and had a cup of coffee while we talked, What a thrill! Window before he
married Elinor had been called before the court for living apart from his
wife but he proved that he had sent to England for her and that she had
died. Next they brought him up on charges for living alone (instead of
with a covenented family). No wonder when he met Widow, Elinor Bennett
he soon married her. He was a carpenter and latter the constable."
Stephen Bennett also wrote that Richard and Elinor had a daughter, Anne,
who was probably their only child.
