She was married to RICHARD when she was about 8 years old and he 7.

They had three children - Edmund, Philippe, and Isabel. In 1344 RICHARD

obtained a papal annulment of the marriage on the grounds that the

marriage had not been freely entered into. In actual fact, RICHARD

desired a politically more advantageous marriage and the official

grounds were but a pretext.
