Notes

Following is Joseph's obituary from the 20 Oct 1978 edition of the "South Bend Tribune":

. Joseph J. Wallisch, 74, of 825 S. Dundee, died at 8:05 p.m. Thursday at home after an extended illness. He was employed for 35 years by the Singer Co. and retired from the White Farm Equipment Co. Wallisch was born on Mar. 16, 1904, in South Bend, where he lived all his life. On May 12, 1925, in South Bend, he married Cornelia Gorski, who survives. Also surviving is a son, Edward, of South Bend.

. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Jose Martelli, C.S.C., assistant pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Wallish was a member of P.N.A. [Polish National Association - I find this a little unusual as his family was of Austrian descent. Perhaps his wife was Polish.] No. 83 and the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No. 58.
