State Lib.] : b. before 1590 in Eng. ; d. Plymouth 1670. Married twice,
but the name of neither spouse is known. He was a merchant adventurer
of London and very active in his support of the New England settlers. He
came to New England with 4 daughters on the MARY & JAMES in 1633. He
was the governor's assistant from 1634 to 1665.
