Notes

Cokayne, in his account of ROGER DE MORTIMER, in his "Comlpete

Peerage", states that ROGER married Isabel de Ferriers, the daughter of

WALKELIN DE FERRIERS. Weis' "Ancestral Roots . . ." (132C:29) accepts

Cokayne as his source. Cokayne's "Complete Peerage" (Derby, p. 191, note

c) agrees.

Weis' "Ancestral Roots. . ." (132C:28). (262:29) tells us that she married

PIERS FITZHERBERT after ROGER DE MORTIMER's death.

Stuart's "Royalty for Commoners" (82:29) & (397:29). She m. (2) Lancelin

II de Bauvais, regent of the countship of Dammartin-en-Goele.

Per Evans, in "Genealogy Magazine" (15:53-63, 21:94), Aelis married

first, AUBRI DE MELLO, and had AUBRI, William, Eudes, and perhaps

others. She married second, Lancelin de Beauvais, who is sometimes

confused with her nephew [RIN 5305*]. Since he was exercising a

certain control over Dammartin in 1112, it would seem that Aubri de

Mello had died by that time.
