Stuart's "Royalty For Commoners" (86:28), (151:29) & (180:32) have him

variously listed as Garcia IV, V, VI.

Subject: Re: RFC Spanish lines (was Re: Descendants of Don Pelayo?)

"Yes, [Sancho IV (RIN 2409)] was King of Navarre] until he got pushed

off a cliff in a family spat. At that time, the kingdom was partitioned,

and the crown (as well as the family of Mazeratiz) went to Aragon. He

was succeeded by SANCHO (V) RAMIREZ OF ARAGON (RIN 2267), and then

by sons Pedro I and Alfonso I (RIN 4972*). Following the death of

Alfonso, the kingdoms again split, and Navarre nominated as king [this

Garcia], (who had succeeded his father RAMIRO SANCHEZ (RIN 4877) as

Count of Monzon)."

Notes

On 23 March 1964, in response to my inquiry to the town clerk of

Yarmouth, Maine, regarding the ancestry of my great grandfather, Joseph

G. Mansfield, I received a response from Katherine P. Tinker. She cited no

sources. In that letter she wrote:

..."Ambrose's wife Deborah Soule was the daughter of Jedediah and

Tabitha (Bishop) Soule and was the great great granddaughter of George

Soule who came to Plymouth on the MAYFLOWER in 1620. Her

grandmother Mercy (Southworth) Soule Was the daughter of Edward and

Mary (Peabody) Southworth. Mary Peabody was the granddaughter of John

and Priscilla (Mullins) Alden who came to Plymouth on the MAYFLOWER in

1620."

"Mayflower Families In Progress" series' volume on "George Soule of the

Mayflower and His Descendants for Four Generations", 2nd ed., published

by The General Society of Mayflower Descendants in 1995, identifies

Deborah as the dau. of JEDEDIAH AND TABITHA SOULE.
