Kelley's "The Ancestry of Eve of Leinster" (The Genealogist, 1980) XIII:1.

"The early pedigree of the kings of Connacht is obscure, apparently because of

tampering brought about by the mis-dating of St. Patrick. They descend from

BRION, a half-brother of NIALL OF THE NINE HOSTAGES. The early sections of this

pedigree need much further study.

"DUI. King of Connacht. Killed in the battle of Segais, 502. He is either

confused with an earlier DUI (DUACH GALACH) or is actually identical with him.

The latter DUI was son of BRION."

It seems generally accepted now that DUI GALACH and DUI TENGA UMA were the

same, a son of Brion who died in 502. The O'Clery Book of Genealogies

(Analecta Hibernica 18) , which is the only known source tracing the descent of

the West Connaught kings from SENACH, son of DUI, shows that DUI as a son of

FERGUS (RIN 7860) and thus a descendant of the earlier DUI, but this appears to

be in error, as referred to by Kelley.
