His father, after a long conflict, was able to expel OTTO WILLIAM
(RIN 1461) from the Duchy of Burgundy and install Robert as duke in his
stead. Thus he founded the junior branch of the Capetian dynasty which
ruled Burgundy from their capital at Dijon for three centuries.
