specify which of his father's wives was his mother. Page 131: "1826-1893

"Captain Skoff". . . He married Lavinia Hamilton, dau. of James Jr. and Sally

Hutchinson Hamilton. He built the house on the South Road - the Jacob's

house, later Captain Ruel Hamilton's house." Page 84 lists him as owner

(1883) and captain of the stone sloop "Mary Eliza". Page 91 lists him as

owner (1869-71) and captain of the stone sloop "Stephen Orr". Page 78

lists him as captain of the stone sloop "Iris". Page 84 lists him as captain

of the stone sloop "Nancy Findly".
