"(1841-1906) son of Simeon Sr. and Sarah Bennett Hamilton. He married
Harriet E. Webber. At the age of 14 he was on board the Sloop Leader with
his father, Capt. Simeon Sr. and at 21 bought an interest in the sloop on
his own, and "ferried stone for two years". Later he bought an interest in
Hamilton & Co. on Stone Wharf with his cousin James Monroe Hamilton.
About 1890 he did general merchandising on his own. He owned considerable
property on Chebeague - was postmaster and Selectman." Page 89
identifies him as owner at two different times and captain of the stone
sloop "Rocky Mountain". Page 67 tells that he and James M.Hamilton
together owned 1/32 of the stone sloop "Active".
