The 1930 census for ED 13, South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana (Ancestry.com image page 30 of 41) lists, at 520 Euclid Ave.:

. Michael Wallisch, owner of home valued at $4000, owning a radio, age 42, widower, first married at age 21, he & parents born in Austria, immigrated in 1888, naturalized, woodworker, sewing machine, not a veteran.

. Marie, daughter, age 20, single, born in Indiana, parents born in Austria.

. George, son, age 19, single, born in Indiana, parents born in Austria, tracking, sewing machine.

. Hildegard, daughter, age 14, born in Indiana, parents born in Austria.

. Abert, son, age 11, born in Indiana, parents born in Austria.

. Elizabeth Walish [note the single, instaed of double L. It appears the enumerator took special care to make this distinction as he could have continued using ditto marks, but did not], mother-in-law, age 80, widow, first married at age 26, she & parents born in Austria, immigrated in 1891, naturalized.

Following is Michael's obituary from the 5 Mar 1973 edition of the "South Bend Tribune":

. Michael J. Wallisch, 85, og 520 Euclid Ave., died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital after an illness of two weeks. He retired from the Singer Co. in 1953 after 42 years. He was born Feb 1, 1888 in Austria, coming to South Bend as an infant and living here the rest of his life. In 1908, in Miles, Mich., he married Mary Wallisch, (cousin) who died in 1920. Surviving are two sons, George and Albert, and two daughters, Mrs. Henry Wartha and Mrs. Hildrgarde Cox, all of South Bend; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul and Joseph Wallisch, both of South Bend; and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Kandlsdorfer of Dowagiac [Michigan].

. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Rev. William Neidhart, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Wallisch was a member of Holy Cross Chhurch and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
