Cockayne's "Complete Peerage" (STAFFORD, pp. 177-179):
Earl of Stafford, Lord, Stafford, and, upon his mother's death, Lord
Audley, K.G. In 1359 he joined the Prince of Wales [i.e., Edward "the
Black Prince (RIN 5210*)] in Aquitaine and served there for several
years. In 1367 he accompanied the Prince to Spain. Went to Calais in
1373; went to Brittany with the Duke of Brittany in 1375; appointed as
one of King Edward III's (RIN 4246*) "Continual Councillors" in 1376 and
reappointed the next year upon the accession of King Richard II
(RIN 5228*);
In addition to the three sons listed here, he had another (3rd born on 21
Sep 1375), William, who was Earl of Stafford from 1386 to 1395.
