Charta, 1215. (234A:28) also names him as the father of Alice.

author I don't have) in *Proceedings of the Oxford Historical Society*,

Vol.XXIV (1893). This reference came from Turton's *Plantagenet

Ancestry*, xiv, 127, 134, 267.

Weis' "Ancestral Roots. . ." (102:26).

Henry, as eldest of the sons of THEOBALD THE GREAT of Blois &

Champagne, was the head of the "Champagne" party during the reign of

KING PHILIP AUGUSTUS. He divided the inheritance with his brothers,

making Theobald count of Blois, Etienne, count of Sancerre, and keeping

Champaign for himself. The fourth brother, William, became the

powerful Archbishop of Rheims. Their sister, Alix (Adele) married KING

LOUIS VII.
