Stuart's "Royalty for Commoners" (341:50).

The Pictish Chronicle calls him Nechtan nepos Uerb, i.e., Nechtan,

grandson/nephew of Verb, perhaps meaning that he was descended from FER

(RIN 6789). This is a remarkable break in the pattern used for all other

kings of "___ son of ___". See Molly Miller's article "Eanfrith's Pictish

son" in "Northern History" vol. XIV (1978), pp. 47-66.
