Pat Burke after years of research makes these comments in reference to information he found in a manuscript in the Dublin Museum:

. "So Walter de Burgo, who married Alice Pouchard, and is the grandson of Monoculous,is often shown as the original Burke (de Burgo) who went to Ireland. In one old record, we found him listed as "Adelm, AKA Walter"" this helped the writer to fudge his way around some date line problems and once accepted, galloped off to the races, like a good computer virus ! Incidentally, we find Walter and Alice having only one child, Geoffrey, who was a Bishop (of Ely) and presumably had no children. So that stem died out there!"
