Thomas Despenser's wife. (AUDLEY, p.341), identifies her as the lover of
(not married to) Edmund de Holand, Earl of Kent and dau. of Edmund, Duke
of York. (Despenser, p.281) says she appeared before the Council on a
charge of being concerned in the abduction of the young Mortimers from
Windsor Castle, when she incriminated her brother, Richard, Duke of York
& Earl of Cambridge (RIN 5217). She was sent to Kenilworth Castle and
her property siezed. These were later restored to her. About this time
is when she had her laison with Edmund, Earl of Kent.
Constance and Thomas Despenser had five children.
