Kelley's "The Ancestry of Eve of Leinster" (The Genealogist, 1980) note

51, citing Ban Shenchus 194:5 and 233:8.

"The name of the mother of Gormflaith is not mentioned. The text

strongly suggests, though it does not specifically say, that Find suffered

as a result of a sexual liaison with Derbail which may have resulted in

the birth of Gormflaith. In the sources blinding is sometimes used as a

euphemism for blinding accompanied by castration."
