Notes

Cokayne's "Complete Peerage" (Cherleton, p.160). In right of his wife, he

became possessed of the Lordship of Powis and other large estates in

North Wales. He was Chamberlain to King Edward II, Constable of Builth

Castle, and participated in the French wars. He joined in the rebellion of

Thomas, Earl of Lancaster (RIN 2859*) 1321/2, but was pardoned. He

was Justiciar of Ireland 1337-8.
