Janie & Nelson had a farm in Huntley, bordered on the Oliver (now Mill ) Road.Nelson worked for several years in Massachusettes earning money to support the farm back in the 1920's.Fred was born in 1911and in 1925 when Nelson came home he was very upset that Fred at 14 had sold some of his harness. Janie made butter and would take the money over to Mrs. Champion who held a mortgage on the farm.Nelson and Henry were progressive thinkers and developed a large herd of registered Holstiens and had one of the biggest milking operations on Prince Edward Island. In later years they found gravel on this farm and in 1956 Nelson bought a new Ford Crown Victoria with his check for that years gravel $5600.00 That was a lot of money in those days. They shared this farm and farm house with son Henry and his wife Georgie for 30 years. At which time Henry and Georgie after a family falling out, moved (in their fifties) to Maine to work for Wes and Clair Oliver in Maine.Shortly thereafter Nelson died and the farm went to another son Johnny and his wife Lottie.
