In his "Complete Peerage", Cokayne states that Isabel was given to her
husband, RALPH, as a reward for RALPH's kidnapping of his own
half-sister, AGNES (RIN 967), and giving her to Isabel's father, SIMON DE
MONTFORT as his second wife.
Cokayne also states of Isabel that "after a long widowhood, repenting
of the fatal wontonness to which she had been too much addicted in her
youth, took the veil at the priory of Haute-Bruyere and lived
praiseworthily in the fear of the Lord."
