Stuart's "Royalty For Commoners" (95:32) & (291:35), identifies her as
Adelaide de Rouerge. Stuart does not identify her parents.
Todd A. Farmerie reviews the article "Autour de Roger de Vieux: les
alliances matrimoniales des comtes de Carcassonne" from the Annales
du Midi, 108:165-187, by Thierry Stasser in a 16 July 1998 posting to
GEN-MEDIEVAL (subject: Carcassonne (Toulouse and Rouergue)). Farmerie
thinks this is the best work done to date with these families. Farmerie
says in that posting:
. "Finally, he turns to another Adelaide, the wife of Count Roger. A list
of Roger's children includes Raymond, Bernard, Peter, Arsinde, and
Ermessinde. Of these, Bernard and Peter have no predicessors in Roger's
family. Likewise, Ermessende, through her marriage with Raymond
Borrell, is credited with the introduction of the name Berenger into the
Counts of Barcelona. A family using these names can be found at
Melgueil, Where Berenger was father of Bernard II, father of Peter,
Bishop of Maguelonne. This link is supported by a document in which a
Bishop Peter witnesses a document of Count Roger of Carcossonne (his
presumed brother-in-law), and by the appearance of the name Senegonde,
the name of the wife of Bernard II, as a granddaughter of Roger and
Adelaide. "
