Concerning Olaf's parentage : "Colonial and Revolutionary Lineages in
America" shows him as the son of Sigtrygg and Eadgyth, the daughter of
Edward the Elder. However, in his excellent book, "A History of the
Vikings", Gwyn Jones states matter-of-factly that Olaf died less than a
year after his marriage to Eadgyth and that Olaf was his son by a
previous marriage.
