Notes

On 23 March 1964, in response to my inquiry to the town clerk of

Yarmouth, Maine, regarding the ancestry of my great grandfather, Joseph

G. Mansfield, I received a response from Katherine P. Tinker. She cited no

sources. In that letter she wrote:

..."Rachel Hill's parents were Ebenezer and Lucy (Hamilton) Hill. . . Rachel

is said to have weighed about 300 pounds."

Stuart's "Royalty For Commoners" (33:35), (158:37), (202:37): Count in

Alsace and in the Nordgau.

Allstrom's "Dictionary of Royal Lineage" has him as the father of

ADELAIDE (RIN 2123), who m. HENRY, COUNT OF SPIRES & DUKE OF

FRANCONIA (RIN 2109), but Weis' "Ancestral Roots" (45:20), says she

was the dau. of GERARD OF LOWER ALSACE.
