"The father of Maria Monomachina, wife of emp. Constantine IX

Monomachos has been questioned but it seems confirmed by the evidence

given by Rupert Willoughby in his well documented two-part article in

"Genealogists' Magazine", - especially the two seals he mentions as

"discovered only this century" [p.325]. He further states that "most
