Cokayne's "Complete Peerage" (Stanley, p.247), says that WILLIAM DE

STANLEY "is said to have m. Alice", but note m goes on to explain that

there appears to be no satisfactory evidence of this marriage. As

evidence in favor of the marriage, WILLIAM did have a dau. named Alice.

Cokayne speculates that it might have been WILLIAM's father, JOHN, who

marries a Mascy.

Weis' "Ancestral Roots. . . " (57:34), has her as WILLIAM's wife and mothe

of JOHN.
