"Four kings of Leinster ruled between his father's death and his
accession, of which one was the famous Brandub of Hy Kinsale, who died
in 606. Faelan died in 667 (AI) or 665 (AFM) and would at that time have
been more than 90 years of age if his father's date of death is accepted
as correct. Since we know that four kings ruled in this interval, it does
not seem excessive; much other evidence indicates that logevity was
typical of the members of Irish ruling families when not cut short by
war or murder."
