According to ""A Genalogy of the Southworths (Southards), by Samuel G.
Webber (1905) [GC 929.2 So 8766w] avail. at the Allen Co. Lib. in Ft.
Wayne, IN : he took the part of Robert against Henry I and was deprived
of his Earldom, which, however, was restored the next year. He married,
1118, Isabel or Elizabeth de Vermandois, widow of Robert de Bellomont,
count of Meulent; but before the count's death she eloped with William,
whom she later married. She was then the mother of eight children. He
died, 1138.
Note : "The Dictionary of Royal Lineage" gives his date of death as 3 Feb
1135.
