.....She m. (1) prob. Plymouth bef. 14 June 1670 (deed) JAMES BARNABY, b.

prob. England; d. bef. 30 Oct. 1677.

.....She m. (2) prob. Plymouth shortly aft. 30 Oct 1677 JOHN NELSON, b.

Plymouth ca. 1644; d. there 29 April 1697 in 54th yr.: son of William and

Martha (Ford) Nelson. He m. (1) plymouth 28 Nov. 1667 Sarah Wood by

whom he had Mehetabel, Martha and John. He m. (3) Plymouth 4 May 1693

Patience Morton by whom he had Liddiah and Sarah.

.....On 30 Oct. 1677 the court disposed of the estate of James Barnabey,

dec. It mentions the widow Lydia is about to marry John Nelson of

Plymouth and provides for bringing up the two children. Lydia's two

brothers, Benjamin Bartlett and Joseph Bartlett, are to oversee the

conditions.

.....In Oct. 1684 James Barnabey chose his father in law John Nelson as

guardian. In Dec. 1688 Stephen Barnabe of Plymouth chose Isaac Cushman

and John Churchell guardians.

.....The inventory of James Barnabey was taken 30 Oct 1677.

.....The will of John Nelson of Plimouth dated 29 April 1697, sworn 16

June 1697, names son Samuel; dau. Mehetable Dotey and son in law John

Dotey; dau. Joanna (under age); Anne Tilson (no relationship stated); wife

Patience Nelson.

.....On 22 June 1697 Samuel Nelson, son of John Nelson, late of Plimouth

chose William Shrutleff and Nathaniel Wood as his guardians. On 22 Dec.

1698 William Nelson of Middleborough and James Barnabe of Plymouth

were appointed guardians of Joanna Nelson, dau. of John Nelson of

Plymouth.
