Yarmouth, Maine, regarding the ancestry of my great grandfather, Joseph
G. Mansfield, I received a response from Katherine P. Tinker. She cited no
sources. In the hand-drawn chart which she attached to that letter she
identified Moses and Mercy as parents of Jedediah Soule.

Soule of the Mayflower and His Descendants for Four Generations", 2nd ed.,

of Edward and Mary (Pabodie) Southworth, a descendant of Pilgrim John
Alden.

.....On 10 May 1748 Moses Soul shared in the division of the common
meadows of Duxbury.
.....Moses Soule died intestate and his son Isaac was appointed
administrator of his estate 25 Jan. 1748/9. On 4 Sept. 1749 the Probate
Court approved the division of the estate to Isaac (eldest son),
Cornelius, Barnabas, Abigail the only child of Ichabod Soule, Gideon,
Jedediah, and Ruth Soule; and to Else (Alice) the wife of Barnabas Perry,
and Deborah Hunt.
.....Daughter Ruth Soule was unmarried on 5 June 1761 when she was
named in the will of Priscilla Southworth and is presumed to be the Ruth
Soule who died 17 March 1777. (In her 1761 will, Priscilla Southworth,
sister of Mercy, names three nieces, daus, of Mercy Soule dec.: Deborah
wife of John Hunt, Alice wife of Edward King, and Ruth Soule.)
